1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Tarun Girish (“we”, “us”), the developer of Sweep. By downloading or using the Sweep app or this website (together, “Sweep”), you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Sweep. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
2. Who can use Sweep
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sweep. If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.
3. Beta software
Sweep is currently offered as a beta through Apple’s TestFlight. Beta versions may contain bugs, may change or lose features, and may stop working when a beta build expires. Your use of TestFlight is also subject to Apple’s TestFlight terms. Feedback you send us helps improve Sweep, and you agree we can use it freely without owing you anything.
4. Your account
You sign in to Sweep with Sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple account secure; you’re responsible for activity on your device and account.
5. Your content
The tasks you create and the photos you take (“your content”) belong to you. Your content is stored on your device, not on our servers, so we can’t restore it if your device is lost, reset or the app is deleted. We recommend keeping regular device backups.
Only photograph places and things you have the right to photograph, and be considerate of other people’s privacy when taking before and after photos.
6. Using Sweep responsibly
You agree not to:
- use Sweep for anything unlawful;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
- interfere with or try to disrupt Sweep or the services it relies on.
7. Safety and home maintenance
Sweep helps you organize tasks and reminds you about recurring upkeep. It doesn’t provide professional, safety or trade advice. You’re responsible for deciding whether and how to do a task safely. Follow manufacturer instructions, use appropriate protective equipment, and hire a qualified professional for electrical, gas, roofing, structural or other hazardous work. Reminders may be late or missed (for example, if notifications are turned off), so don’t rely on Sweep alone for safety-critical checks like smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
8. Price
The Sweep beta is free. If we introduce paid features, we’ll describe them here and in the App Store before you’re charged. Purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
9. Our rights
Sweep, including its design, code, name and logo, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Sweep on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by these terms and Apple’s Usage Rules.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Sweep or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn’t responsible for any claims relating to Sweep, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. If Sweep fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you’re not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and aren’t on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sweep is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Sweep will be uninterrupted, error-free or that your content will never be lost.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, property damage or personal injury arising from tasks you choose to do, in connection with your use of Sweep. Our total liability for any claim relating to Sweep is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Sweep in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.
Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.
13. Ending use
You can stop using Sweep at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or stop offering Sweep, or end your access if you seriously breach these terms. Sections 5, 9 and 11 to 14 continue to apply after your use ends.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Sweep grows. We’ll post the new version here and change the effective date. For significant changes, we’ll give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Sweep after changes take effect means you accept them.
